How to Replace Needles on the Flick WDT: A Simple Guide
Note: The Flick ships with 0.5mm needles installed to prevent buckling in transit, but the replacement needles included are 0.35mm thick. Switch out the needles if you like thinner needles.
The Flick WDT by Subminimal is a fantastic tool for coffee enthusiasts who want to perfect their espresso shots. However, like any tool, it requires occasional maintenance, such as replacing the needles. Here’s a friendly guide to help you through the process.
Steps to Replace the Needles
Prepare the Flick: First, press the button to ensure the needles are in the OUT position. This is crucial to prevent any twisting or damage during the replacement process.
Position the Flick: Hold the Flick vertically. This position helps keep the needles from retracting back in.
Remove the Front Cap: Use the provided allen key to unscrew the front cap. This will give you access to the needles.
Replace the Needles: Once the cap is off, remove the small screw in the center of the needles. Carefully replace the old needles with new ones.
Reassemble the Flick: Screw the cap back on while ensuring the needles remain OUT. This prevents them from getting twisted inside as the cap turns.
