What's the ShipAid Package Protection: A Friendly Guide
Shipping can sometimes be a nerve-wracking experience, especially when you’re eagerly waiting for a package. Fortunately, ShipAid offers a package protection service that can ease your worries. This guide will walk you through what ShipAid covers and how you can make the most of it.
What is ShipAid Package Protection?
ShipAid is an optional add-on service that protects your packages against loss, damage, and theft. It’s designed to give you peace of mind by ensuring that your purchases are covered in case something goes wrong during transit.
How Does ShipAid Work?
When you opt for ShipAid, you’re covered for various scenarios:
Lost in Transit: If your package is lost, you can file a claim. For US orders, claims can be made seven days after the last tracking update. For international orders, the waiting period is twenty days.
Returned to Sender: If your package is returned due to an incorrect address, ShipAid covers the re-shipping fee for US orders. However, international packages are not returned and are considered lost.
Stolen Packages: If your package is marked as delivered but you haven’t received it, you can file a claim within 5 to 15 days of the delivery date.
Incorrect Delivery: If the package is delivered to the wrong address, ShipAid will replace it once confirmed by the courier.
Failed Delivery Attempts: Claims can be filed if the package is marked as returned to sender after failed delivery attempts.
Damaged Items: Report any damage within 5 days of receipt with photos or videos.
What ShipAid Does Not Cover
It’s important to note that ShipAid does not cover delays in expedited shipments or packages stuck in customs due to unpaid duties. Always ensure you’re aware of your country’s import duties to avoid any issues.
Filing a Claim with ShipAid
If you need to file a claim, you can do so easily by visiting ShipAid's claims page. Make sure to file your claim within the specified timeframes to ensure it’s processed smoothly. If a chargeback or other claim is placed on the same order, the ShipAid Policy will be forfeited or put on hold until the resolution of the chargeback.
