Do

Make sure you have well charged batteries for best resuts
Slowly warm your milk to 55-65°C (130°F- 150°F) for optimum sweetness and the best texture.
Use a narrow jug and ensure you have at least 40mm (1.5”) depth in the milk.
Start with the fine NanoScreen if it’s your first time, it’s a little bit easier.
Keep a steady hand and make very tiny movements and observe the reaction of the milk.
Start in the middle to aerate the milk in just 3-10 seconds. Listen to the gushing sound which means big bubbles are created.
Very slowly move towards the edge of the jug, make sure the NanoScreen is deep inside the milk and not near the surface. Now you no longer hear the gushing sound. Over time, the milk gets quieter and quieter as it is all turned into microfoam. Hold this position for 15 or until you feel the microfoam is homogenous.
Find the perfect position to keep a silent vortex in the milk. This pulls all the surface bubbles down.
A couple of practice attempts and a steady hand is all it takes.

Don’t

Don’t use cold milk if trying to create microfoam for latte art, it will end up too thick.
Don’t overheat the milk, it will taste burned and can leave marks in your jug.
Don’t start with too little milk, it is more challenging as big bubbles can easily form
Don’t raise the impelle

Returns

Should you change your mind about your purchase, you may return products within 30 days for a full refund on the purchase price of the product. Note that we don't refund any shipping charges. Please contact us first for an RMA and address for the return.

Cleaning the NanoScreens

Best practices

Rinse and spin the NanoFoamer immediately after each use, either in a glass of water or directly under running water in the sink. This will prevent any milk from drying on the NanoScreen and the rotation will eject any residue.

Occasionally remove the NanoScreen and give it a scrub. We don't recommend removing the NanoScreen with each use as it may gradually loosen the fit.

Unclogging a NanoScreen

If your NanoScreen has become clogged with dry milk over time, take it off the impeller and soak it in lemon juice, or lemon and baking soda overnight. Then scrub with a stiff brush.

Get a fresh set

If your NanoScreens are clogged beyond repair and you feel it has become harder to create perfectly smooth microfoam, then maybe it is time to get a fresh set.

Which AA batteries should I use?

What are the best batteries to use?

Using good batteries is important because the faster the NanoFoamer spins, the more power it has to pull surface floating bubbles down and then them into microfoam.

Rechargeable vs Alkaline

We like to use rechargeable batteries because it is more ecological but also because you'll always have a fresh set of batteries ready to switch out at a moment's notice.

Branded vs Supermarket or OEM batteries

We highly recommend not choosing generic supermarket brand batteries. This YouTuber has tested dozens of battery types and it is quite shocking how little power there is in some of the generic brands.

Alkaline vs Lithium

We have tested the AA lithium (non-rechargeable) batteries with the NanoFoamer and they do work really well. They output 1.5V of power vs 1.2V for Alkaline so the motor does get an extra boost from that higher power. We have not tested the rechargeable lithium batteries but they should also work just fine.

Tracking numbers are sent by email after shipping.
Standard ship via USPS, DHL e-commerce, or UPS and take 3 - 6 days.
Expedited 2 day typically ship via UPS but may use other carriers depending on the location and take 1 - 2 days to arrive.
Canadian Standard orders ship via DHL e-commerce and take 5 - 14 days to arrive.

Express is fast, reliable and recommended if the shipping fee is affordable. We use courier service such as DHL Express and FedEx for this shipping method. Express is the best option for most countries in Asia since we ship from Singapore. This shipping option will take up to 3 - 7 days to arrive to most Countries.
Standard is a postal shipping service. The last mile delivery will be with your local post office. We use Singpost & Asendia for most countries, and NinjaVan for some countries in Asia.

About IR Thermometers

Good to Know About the Thermometer

There are a few things to note about how IR thermometers work in General. We put a quick "good to know" section on our website here and this Thermo Blog article also makes a great read.

| Note that our thermometer has an emissivity rating of 0.95 and cannot be changed or calibrated. Here are the essential things to note:

IR Thermometers take surface readings, not internal temperature readings. It is important to stir your milk first to be uniform in temperature as it might be quite a bit hotter at the bottom by the stove than it is at the top in contact with the air.

IR Thermometers are extremely sensitive to orientation & reflections, so be sure to point them to the surface correctly.

IR Thermometers will take a reading from the first contact they come across, even if that contact is steam that you cannot see; this makes them tricky to use with water straight off the boil or evaporating liquids at 80°C onwards.

IR Thermometers are also particularly not good at taking the temperature of boiling water in a stainless steel pot due to the reflectivity of the stainless. This tends to reflect ambient IR rather than emitting its own, so this is the worst way to determine an IR thermometer's accuracy.
